Offering nine thoroughbred Race Dates, the Yarra Glen Races has something for everyone: 12 September 2009 (Melba Festival Race Day); 24 October 2009 (Yarra Valley Food & Wine Race Day (Cox Plate); 28 November 2009 (Early Christmas Meeting); 18 December 2009 (Christmas Meeting); 29 December 2009 (Leader Kids’ Day Out); 24 January 2010 (Australia Day Weekend); 21 February 2010 (De Bortoli Family Day); 21 March 2010 (NMIT Yarra Valley Cup Food and Wine Day); and, 25 April 2010 (Anzac Day).

If you are more interested in harness racing, however, then this is not a problem. The Yarra Valley Races offers sixteen harness meets per year. The following 2009/2010 race dates include: 22 July 2009; 7 August 2009; 9 October 2009; 3 November 2009; 9 November 2009; 4 December 2009; 28 December 2009; 1 February 2010; 12 February 2010; 1 March 2010; 19 April 2010; 12 May 2010; 21 May 2010; 4 June 2010; 23 June 2010; and, 30 June 2010.

Yarra Glen Races Track Statistics

The statistics of the track include the circumference of the track (1684 metres) and the length of the straight (232 metres). A modernisation of the track was performed. During this phase, the banking turn was widened and the home turn was also widened (from the 600m mark to the finish).The Yarra Glen Racing facility offers a fully irrigated venue. Field limits of thirteen for two year olds and fourteen for other ages are adhered to.

For those compiling further information and helping your betting, the Yarra Valley race track offers a distance to the first turn in a 1000 metre race of approximately 350 metres. Other lengths include: the 1200 metre race with a distance to the first turn of about 550 metres; the 1500 metre race of about 250 metres; a 1950 metre race and a first turn of about 250 metres; and, the 2800 metre race of approximately 550 metres.
